Last of the Autumn Roses..........

I was out cutting the last of the roses this morning before the predicted cold, wintry blast hits in the next couple of days, much better on the coffee table, smelling sweetly of summer to come..............

...this is 'Teasing Georgia' from David Austin. She just keeps flowering right through spring, summer and autumn and her perfume is sweet and spicy..

..the last 'Just Joey' bud, slightly stumpy from the cold nights, but still a beautiful bloom if a disappointing bush....

..'The Children's Rose', my personal favourite in the garden. Headily scented, sweet and old fashioned, this really has the most delicious perfume.......

..and last the most photogenic rose ever (IMHO) "Julia's Rose', sweet, old fashioned beauty. Again, not much of a bush, very scraggy, but the bloom makes up for ALL other faults.

Oh, they are all beautiful... love the folds in the yellow rose and the drops, so delicate...
