Back to Basics...

I've been a bit lazy just lately with my photographs, just had the Nikon on Program setting and let it do the work on it's own..... ..time to take back control.

I was looking for some DoF with this set of shots... ...this is a little Plum tree that's in the big driveway... ..we never get any fruit off it at all... ..what little is on it the Parrots get every year, but we're okay with that.....Parrots have to eat too..!! The first of the new season daisies, fresh, white and heralding sunnier days......we hope !!

It's the little things...

Late for Texture Tuesday again... This week the theme is 'the little things' ..! ...this little bee was just getting ready to land on the banksia last week as I took the photograph and it seemed to fit in with this weeks theme quite well.
I used a warming filter first to up the colour, converted to B&W, upped the contrast slightly.
Next was Kims Stamped Softly Canvas texture, blended with a soft light, opacity to 36%.
I then added Kim's Scratched Magic with a Lightened blend mode, opacity 90%.
Finally I added Kims Paperstainedlight, blended with soft light at 98% opacity

I've decided to start the 365 Project, you know, post a photo for everyday of the 365 days of a year..! I guess it's my attempt to chronicle a year in my life, mostly without words of course, otherwise it will take up too much time. Anybody that reads my main blog A House in the Country will know that  I have a husband, children, grandchildren, brothers, friends and I'm very, very lucky to still have my parents with me. They are both well into their 80's, Mum has Alzheimer's and Dad looks after her with all the love and attention that can only come from sharing more than 62 years of their life together. I love them both more than I can say but I am fully aware that time is running out, especially for Mum who remembers less and less with each passing month...

So, this is my shot at leaving a year of pictures and memories that I (and my family) can look at and say ' I remember that day'! I can't say that I will post every day, but I'm hoping to not leave it any longer than five days and I WILL take a photograph every day for the next year..!!
